Abstract

|
|
This study is to analyze ethnic and gender difference of death rates in the United States. The data were gathered from the National Census and Vital Statistics of the U.S. Departmnt of Population for the year of 1961. In the study, it is found
that
the
race is predominant factor affecting mortality. The results propose that considerably high prevalence of accidents related non-white male mortality leads to the highest Hvalues among all the race and gender groups. The highest mortality of
non-white
males turns over at the oldest age (85+) group; the trend shows the white-male group projects the highest H-value. In general, it is evident that "male" and "non-white" are the significant factors leading to higher mortality than other issues.
